If you are currently a parent, or going to be one in the future, and these words came out from your child's mouth. What if they came back one day and said: "I've something to tell you. And I hope you would understand. I really didn't mean it. I don't know what was I thinking, I didn't expect this to happen." stuff like that.

What will you do?
1. Scold the child
    e.g. What?! I earn money to feed you and got you into the best skool, got you a tutor, take you
           overseas, and buy you things you like and this is what you do to me? Is this how you repay me?
           Got yourself pregnant? You still even dare to come back and tell me! etc...
2. Leave the child and lock yourself in your room and cry, not wanting to eat. Don't feel like talking to
    the poor child anymore.
3. Calm yourself down and ask her what are her plans. And discuss what can you do to help.

*Please think of this question carefully before choosing the answer, especially the third one.

In cases like this, we can't just anyhow make a decision without thinking carefully of what will happen next.
First, we need to calm ourselves, and ask for the child's decision. What is he/she going to do, and is the other party going to take responsibilities, does the other party's parents know about this, and what are their views, etc. There is a need to find out about everything, before making a choice.

Second, understand the child's feelings and conditions. How is she feeling now, and how did she found out about her pregnancy. If she is not sure, take her to the doctor and seek advise before moving on.

Third, help your child and it would be best if you could give him/her your support. This will not have unhappy endings.

Though it's hard to do that, you have to try and keep encourage your child to be strong no matter what is his/her decisions. It may not sound good to the ears, but is it better to save young life, than to have a good impression to others?  If you choose to 'kill' the child, then you will be able to give others a good impression that he/she is "clean". But if you choose to let the child live, then others might not have a good impression on you. However, is "impression" much more important? Or is it the "life" that is important. Think carefully.

*Please do not mistook that I am encouraging teenagers to get themselves pregnant at a young age. Rather, I am hoping that you will make a decision wisely when this thing happens.
